December Developer Newsletter |
Hi folks,
Here is our last newsletter for 2022: blogs, conferences and new releases of our libraries and plugins.
Fun fact, Advent of Code has started! Starting on the 1st and ending on the 25th of December (Christmas), they release a series of small programming puzzles for a variety of skill sets and skill levels that can be solved in any programming language you like. Following the lore, you slowly build a lovely ASCII Christmas tree with every daily challenge that you solve. To keep our minds sharp, some of our engineers at Adyen solve these challenges on a daily basis for fun. We keep track of our own private leaderboard, laugh about our solutions, and challenge you to do the same as well!
We are excited for 2023 as we have recently launched our brand new YouTube channel to help our developers! We will be adding content over time, so feel free to let us know what you would like to see on Twitter! |

November 15, PostgresQL User Group NL |
What a great night at the PostgreSQL User Group NL hosted by Adyen in Amsterdam! It was amazing to see how the PostgreSQL community is active and passionate. We had two great talks: "Understanding Postgres HOT Updates plus using Prometheus and Grafana to Track and Tune Issues" and "Exploring Linux Memory Usage and IO Performance for PostgreSQL. We followed up many questions, two improvised (5 min) lightning talks and networking. Open source and databases are very special topics for us, so expect more initiatives to come soon. |

November 22, Grafana Meetup |
We hosted a successful meetup in collaboration with Grafana. Ward Bekker, a Senior Principal Solutions Engineer at Grafana, took the time to go over a curated list of (20+) topics from our Observability team, and answered these during his talk. We followed-up by diving deeper into the other topics that went unanswered: demos and its best-practices. |

December 6-7, DevRelCon Prague |
We were proud gold sponsors of DevRelCon 2022 in Prague. Our internal Developer Advocates Afzaal Ahmad Zeeshan and Amy Mbaegbu gave a joint-talk about DevRel for Internal Engineers. They attended several other sessions covering all DevRel-related topics, and brought back home some knowledge that they will share with us over-time. |
